【摘要】:Thefour-ballwear-testmethodcanbeusedtodeterminetherelativewear-preventingpropertiesofgreasesunderthetestconditionsandifthetestconditionsarechangedtherelativeratingsmaybedifferent.Nocorrelationhasbeenestablishedbetweenthefour-ballweartestandfieldservice.ThetestmethodcannotbeusedtodifferentiatebetweenExtremePressure(EP)andNon-ExtremePressure(Non-EP)Greases.51.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthewearpreventivecharacteristicsofgreasesinslidingsteel-on-steelapplications.Itisnotintendedtopredictwearcharacteristicswithmetalcombinationsotherthansteel-on-steelortoevaluatetheextremepressurecharacteristicsofthegrease.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandardexceptwherethetestapparatusorconsumablepartsareonlyavailableinotherunits.Insuchcases,thesewillberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.

【摘要】:Workersinvolvedintheproduction,use,andtransportationofliquidandgaseouschemicalscanbeexposedtonumerouscompoundscapableofcausingharmuponcontactwiththehumanbody.Thedeleteriouseffectsofthesechemicalscanrangefromacutetraumasuchasskinirritationandburntochronicdegenerativediseasesuchascancer.Sinceengineeringcontrolsmaynoteliminateallpossibleexposures,attentionisoftenplacedonreducingthepotentialfordirectskincontactthroughtheuseofprotectiveclothingthatresistspermeation,penetration,anddegradation.Thistestmethodisonlyappropriateforevaluatingtheintegrityoftotallyencapsulatingprotectivesuits,thataredesignedandmanufacturedtopreventtheinwardleakageofgasesandvapors.ThevaporprotectionshouldbetestedinaccordancewithTestMethodF2588.GarmentsdesignedtoprotectfromliquidchemicalsshouldbetestedinaccordancewithTestMethodF1359.Thisnon-destructivetestmethodisusefulasaqualitycontroltoolformanufacturesandasafieldmethodforenduserstodeterminechangesingarmentintegrityfollowinguse.Thistestmethodisusefultoendusersfordeterminingtheintegrityofvaporprotectivesuitsuponreceiptfromthemanufacturer,priortouse,followinguseanddecontamination,followingrepairs,andasaperiodicmaintenancetest.1.1Thistestmethodmeasurestheabilityofavaporprotectivesuits,includingseams,andclosurestomaintainafixed,positivepressure.1.2Thistestmethoddoesnotmeasurevaporprotectionofsuits.Thistestmethodmeasurestheintegrityofthesuit,glove,footprotection,andvisormaterials,aswellastheseams,andclosuresofavaporprotectivesuit.Exhaustvalvesfittedinthevaporprotectivesuitmustbesealedorblockedforthistestandthereforearenotfunctionallytested.1.3Thevaluesasstatedinin.-H2O(mm-H2O)unitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardstatements,seeSection7.
