【摘要】:Thistestmethodrelatesefficiencyofoperationofdomesticheatingequipmenttocleanburning.Reducingcombustionairinaburnergivesmoreefficientoperation.Theextenttowhichcombustionaircanbereducedislimitedbytheonsetofunacceptablesmokeproduction.Bydelineatingtherelationbetweensmokedensityandairsupply,thistestmethod(togetherwithnetstacktemperaturedata)definesthemaximumefficiencyforagiveninstallationatanyacceptablesmokelevel.Forcertaintypesofequipment,suchastherotarywall-flameburner,toomuchexcessairwillcausesmokeaswellastoolittle.Forthesecases,thepointofminimumexcessairattheacceptablesmokelevelindicatestheoptimumefficiency.Theoperatingtemperaturesoftheequipmentwillaffectthesetestresults.Therelationofexcessairtosmokedensityisthussusceptibletosomechangeatdifferentpointsinanoperatingcycle.Inpractice,anadequatecompromiseispossiblebyoperatingtheburnerfor15minbeforeanyreadingsarerecordedandthenobtainingthetestdatawithinasucceeding25-minperiod.Underlaboratoryconditions,CO2readingsarereproducibletox00B1;0.3%andsmokereadingsarereproducibletox00B1;x00BD;smokespotnumber.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheevaluationoftheperformanceofdistillatefuelsfromthestandpointofclean,efficientburning.ItisintendedprimarilyforusewithhomeheatingequipmentburningNo.1orNo.2fueloils.Itcanbeusedeitherinthelaboratoryorinthefieldtocomparefuelsusingagivenheatingunitortocomparetheperformanceofheatingunitsusingagivenfuel.Note18212;Thistestmethodappliesonlytopressureatomizingandrotary-typeburners.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.2.1Arbitraryandrelativeunitsarealsoused.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
